Support Groups

There isn't just one type of cancer. Even if there was, everyone doesn't cope with a cancer diagnosis the same way. That's why we're offering a variety of support groups to meet the needs of a wide variety of people - all free of charge and located throughout Alberta and the Northwest Territories.

The Inspiring Hope Support Group Series consists of eight sessions - each of a two-hour duration. Led by experienced professionals along with cancer survivors, the sessions are structured but also provide flexibility in format and topics.

Living With Cancer

This is a group where those who are recently diagnosed with cancer can gather together and benefit from the support of professionals, cancer survivors and others facing a similar diagnosis. The group typically consists of a series of eight, two-hour sessions, which are co-facilitated by a professional and a cancer survivor. The sessions are structured, yet flexible. The focus is on discussion topics important for adults living with cancer, specifically those who are newly diagnosed.

The groups are small in size to allow peer support and open communication among group members. Refreshments are provided.
